About Tara
Tara Darlington is a Birth Educator, Yoga Instructor, Doula and Mother of 6.

“After I had my first baby, I realised that women research their pram more than their pregnancy, birth and parenting options. I meet many women who had a lot of fear or who had had a traumatic experience. I want to share what I have learnt to help women to achieve a most positive, wonderful birth and to help them to enjoy motherhood.” Tara
Tara has been interviewed recently by Channel 10 regarding benefits of cloth nappies and Channel 9 about how to choose a safe sling (baby carrier). She has been featured on 60mins in their “Mother’s Choice” article about choices for childbirth as well as in the National Geographic Series “Taboo” which explores long-term breastfeeding.
In 2006 she made a short documentary with her husband Garfield Darlington, entitled “The Birth of Aasha”, sharing their experience of having a homebirth after a previous caesarean section which was screened at three International Film Festivals including the Baltimore Women’s Film Festival and was recently invited to share her story at a Homebirth Access Sydney (HAS) meeting on VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Caesarean). One her most rewarding moments in her career was when a women tapped her on the shoulder at a cafe and said “I heard you speak about your VBAC experience, it inspired me to have a natural birth after my caesarean and it has been one of the most positive experiences of my life.”
She produced her Prenatal Yoga at Home DVD just weeks before giving birth to her 5th child, Ilaria and is currently producing a Post Natal Yoga DVD.
